Just a scratching post, not a container!

Due to the contour I thought this would be a great scratching post for my kitty but it is just a spare pad with no holding box. Nothing to hold food scraps, dust or catnip. I've bought many cat scratching posts and never heard of a simple insert and this one is smaller than the regular ones so the old box doesn't hold it securely. Dissatisfied.
