This balancing kit made balancing my ceiling fan easier. Following the instructions, I moved the test clip, starting at the center of each blade, then at the tip of each blade, and then at the base of each blade. Once I found the blade with the best balance point, I refined that point by moving the clamp around that blade's best balance point to see if I could improve on that balance point. After determining the best balance point, I removed the clamp and replaced it with the included 3 gram weight. Now I have a very quiet and non-vibrating fan at all speeds. I definitely recommend this set. Don't use pennies and duct tape; does not hold up over time;
