Everything worked great and I successfully turned gallons of juice into a decent amount of maple syrup. I look forward to doing it again next year and am very happy with my purchase. I took off a star for durability because I was really struggling to get some splines out of the trees after the season. Maybe there's a trick to doing this without damaging the splines, but I've been about 50/50 at successfully removing them without ruining them. The best part was the instructions. It made walking fast very easy for me. Very glad it was there and it was written for the complete beginner level. Thanks very much! One thing I didn't really use was the recipe cards. There are millions of recipes on the web, so these maps were of no use to me. However, I wish there was a "Next Steps" guide in the kit for people who want to "improve their game". For example, maybe recommend a jig to hold the filters in place, or suitable filter containers, or anything to help me expand. All in all I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it to anyone looking to get started.
