I bought this cork tape hoping to use it to repair a badly worn spot on my existing cork board. I use my bulletin board in my home office and as I only have a year left before retirement I didn't want to buy another board. I often use a certain corner of the board and the cork pieces are corroded. I carefully cut out the damaged corner (approx. 1.88 x 3 inches), measured and replaced the bottom cardboard and taped cork tape over the cardboard. Almost new! The seams of the cut section are certainly visible, but once I've pinned my "thing" back to the board, the repair isn't noticeable at all. Worked great for me!
