Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM SLR Lens: Ideal for EOS Digital SLRs by Abhey Singh แ Œ

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A practical product, nothing to complain about.

I thought about buying a width for a long time. Even too much . As a result, I took this glass, despite its price. I tried to shoot with sigma, tamron. Unfortunately, I did not get to the tokina (after all, these glasses are rather rare in our use). Why canon 10-22? Because this is the largest width in the range of focal lengths. There is no other like it yet. There are no problems with focusing, everything is very clear. I wonโ€™t say that the lens gives crazy sharpness, but in general everything is more than normal. The picture is great! With a polarizer, everything is ideal, the sky is clouds, artistic distortion, perspective, everything is fine. In any case, the choice of crop widths is limited . Two sigmas, two tamrons, and tokins. Sigma gives unstable quality, the price is better, but the range is smaller (although minimal). The Tamron is the worst in quality, it didnโ€™t get to the tokina (but it has the narrowest range, and on a crop 1mm wide already matters) . I donโ€™t understand people who compare this glass with Lks like 16-35, 17-40 . Whatโ€™s the point of comparing . on crop 16-35 and 17-40 itโ€™s not wide, but a staffer . By the way, in full frame 16-35 is not a masterpiece . I recommend buying, landscapes, sky, sunsets ideally. Where there is no possibility to turn around, it is also suitable. Filmed in the museum, quite normal (not a masterpiece, but quite). You can wind up cool effects with distortions, a la caricature . Stretch faces in portraits, for the sake of laughter . Well, landscapes and general plans . And from a tripod on a closed aperture, in general, everything is quite sharp and clear. Regarding HA, yes, sigma, that canon is the same thing, tamron is worst of all. itโ€™s just harder to find a good sigma, but the quality of the canon is stable. As for distortions - they exist and you canโ€™t run away from them anywhere, but itโ€™s shirik in the end, they are all like that . Good luck to everyone .

Pros
  • Native width on cropped cameras from canon. USM motor, I will give 4 points to the quality of the picture. Quite sharp among analogues (that is, the width of the crop). The widest range of any width on Canon. Well, the glass is original.
Cons
  • Canon hoods are clamped on all non-L-s (but in width it is very necessary), the price is rather big, in the price-quality ratio it outweighs the price, and the quality is not at a very high level. There is no other original alternative from canon, there is only this one and that's all. Of course, there is a tamron, a tokin, a sigma, but there is nothing else (similar) from canon. The next point (this is a technical characteristic, not a drawback) is that this lens cannot be used on a full frame, it is made only for crop, in fact, this is why it gives 10-22, which gives 16-35 in equivalent.
