Review on ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Gibson Elite Reactive Stoneware Dinnerware: Durability and Style Combined by Joseph Hall

Stylish but broken too easily.

I replaced my existing dishes with this set. For comparison, I bought my last set from Target and it lasted almost 10 years. I've owned this set for less than a year. I wash dishes by hand, and the hardest surface in my apartment is linoleum over wood. Most of it is covered with carpets. (I say I rarely break anything.) Two mugs, a small plate and one of the bowls are already broken - so many broken that I'm buying new ones now. Dishes. I'll readily admit I'm a clumsy, but I'm not THAT clumsy. The extra cup cracked from top to bottom last week and I had to throw it away. Luckily, I discovered this before my hot tea or coffee exploded on me. These dishes also get very hot in the microwave despite being labeled as microwavable, so hot I have to use oven mitts or gloves to get them out.

Pros
  • CERAMIC/DOUBLE REACTIVE GLAZES: Reactive technology means multiple colors in a glaze interact with each other to create a dreamy, vibrant quality of color and shade. Thanks to the reactive nature of the glaze, each piece of porcelain stoneware is unique. The high firing temperature, the thick structure and the mixture of purely natural clays make porcelain stoneware an incredibly durable material.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
