They snap into a ring on the back of the camera. They work great, but when you try to adjust the camera angle, they pop out of the camera. One of them was attached to the railing on the deck, and it worked for about a month, and then the camera flew out. Luckily he landed on the deck and not on the rocks in the ground below. Can't trust this is camera related.
