I use HyperX headphones (link below) on my computer. They sounded fine from my onboard audio out, but something was missing. I put them through a lot of sound testing, looking at specs and such to see if it was my headphones or the sound from my computer. I came back with the fact that they needed some amp power for my 53mm drivers. After plugging in a USB DAC/amplifier and switching to it, the sound is just wow. The soundstage opened. Everything is clear and precise. The bass has that punch and the highs have that click. I knew my headphones were capable of producing great sound. Since HyperX offers the same headphones with more range and price, the difference lies in the included amplifier. This DAC/amp gave me the audiophile flavor I was craving. It's worth it.
