This vest will NOT take you into an air conditioned room. This lowers core temperature, reduces sweating slightly but not completely, increases energy levels in the heat, and reduces the likelihood of heat-related illness. Cold packs are a little bulky to the point of melting a little. One pack in each bag (4) lasts about an hour (slightly more) at 90*F, keeping the body cool. Condensation occurs in hot and humid conditions, so it is not a dry solution. , but much drier than a vapor vest. The weight (they are not feather light) is well distributed on the shoulders and very comfortable. Installing ALL the cooling pads makes the vest a little bulky but not unwearable while still allowing for great freedom of movement. not your belt. I can comment on durability as I've only had it a month, but it's being used 6.5 hours a day, 5 days a week and there's no sign of the stitching coming undone. This is not a very cheap solution. to survive the heat, but it's effective. Just don't expect miracles. Expect a cooler core that reduces stress on your body and especially your heart.
