Review on 🍞 Black+Decker TO3290XSBD Toaster Oven - 8-Slice Stainless Steel | Top-rated Appliance for Quick & Efficient Cooking! by Ben Demers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Big family toaster with some extra features

Black and Decker TC3290XSD Toaster Oven This is an attractive oven with stainless steel side and top panels and a wide glass front. The controls are digital, which is a plus as you get the same setting with every selection, as opposed to the more traditional spring-loaded countdown timer button. The controls are on the right front and have small icons that tell you what they do. The icons aren't that easy to understand initially, so the description of each icon is on the glass just to the left of the controls in three languages, and that's a lot of writing on the glass. The device has settings for hot air baking, roasting. , toast, reheat, pizza, bagels and frozen snacks. You can either accept the default settings or use the temperature up and down buttons to change the setting. You also have access to a timer that you can set so you don't accidentally overcook anything. The timer only starts when the oven has reached the set temperature and switches the oven off when the timer has expired. A nice feature for those of us who tend to put things in the oven, go to another room to "get an email or two" and then finally get the food out when the smoke alarm goes off. However, it's worth noting that the timer turns on automatically even if you don't set it. So make sure it gives you enough time to cook, or set it to just stay "on". appliance, especially for families (or those who live without an oven!). It measures 21.5 inches wide, 11.25 inches high and about 13 inches deep. However, since you might be using regular sized bread, you'll only get 6 slices at a time. In my first test, I put 6 slices in the oven and set it to "4" (default setting). , especially at the back, weren't as well done as the middle pieces. Test 2 was to note how each setting was roasted, so in the next picture two slices (placed in the center of the oven) at "4", then two at "5". , then two to "6". Setting 4 took 3 minutes 30 seconds and was barely roasted with a chewy center. Setting 5 (4:20) is more golden. Eyebrows and inside still tough. Level 6 (six minutes) is clearly exaggerated. So I tried level 6 again, but this time I put 6 slices in the oven. In the last photo, the result: an even brown color, a little gum remained in the center. I would only use level 6 (let alone level 7) for frozen bread or when the toaster is full of bread. BTW, the second time I did the setting 6, it only toasted for 5:40, so the unit makes internal adjustments when the oven is already warm. Nice feature that is usually only found in more expensive ovens. One thing to note is that toasters can save you money, especially when compared to electric range ovens because the toaster heats up less space. However, it always makes sense to buy the smallest toaster for your needs as it will be the most efficient. If you only ever toast 2 bagels for breakfast, then this toaster isn't for you. If you consistently toast 4 bagels, you're the winner. I was able to bake an orange and olive oil tart in a pie dish and a pizza directly on the oven rack in the middle position - both turned out perfectly. With almost all toasters, the outer part of this appliance is heated. A few minutes into toasting, the sides were still 145 degrees and the front stainless steel just above the glass door was 160. Care must be taken to avoid these surfaces.
