Colorful, unglazed coasters. They're lightweight ceramic with a cork backing.The lack of a surface glaze has two effects, one is they're a lot less shiny than I expected. The other is related: the ceramic absorbs moisture through its surface. That effect was something of a surprise, it worked rapidly, with small amounts of surface water just "vanishing" into the ceramic. I don't know if this is bad for the material over time, but it was much better than moisture beading & dripping.These coasters pretty much works as advertised. They're well-priced, lighter than other "durable" coasters, much nicer looking than cardboard, and don't stick to your drink like plain cork. The aesthetic won't work for everybody, but no complaints about how the product works.
