Review on 🌑️ Extech RHT30 USB Humidity/Temperature Datalogger: Track and Record Environmental Conditions with Accuracy by Ron Coleman

Lost data, no data logger

I had a new refrigerator with temperature fluctuations. I have used USB data loggers at work before for a variety of reasons and figured if I bought one and put it in the fridge I would get a data log that I could show the warranty repair company to diagnose the current problem. I bought the EXTECH RHT10 because I expected the same reliable results as the EasyLog USB data logger I use at work. When I tried to download the provided software, it didn't download. Finally, after the 3rd try, it finally booted. I plugged the data logger into the USB port and my computer said it was not connected. Then the logger seemed to connect and disconnect every 5 seconds. After rebooting and trying again, I was finally able to connect and set up the recorder. Once set up, I unplugged it, let it run (watched the LED blink every time it took a reading) and put it in the fridge. A week later I plugged it into my computer only to get a message saying there was no data in the logger! It then started the plug/unplug sequence again. It's bad enough that this product didn't work, worse that it lost important data. Result. Buy a better product and test it several times before writing important data.
