I have followed the TSA size limit requirements and it definitely meets the requirements of almost all major airlines. I love how it can expand on either side, although I don't think you'll have enough room for it on the plane. However, it can stretch inward when I'm in a lounge or airport lounge (required to keep a pet in a kennel). She is very small and low to the ground, she cannot quite stand up indoors. It can move inward, but it cannot make a full 360 degree rotation unless both sides are extended. I don't think pockets are the problem, she's not toy sized and it will be. I've used other brands in the past where the straps popped out and didn't hold their shape. It looks sturdy and well made. Additional pockets on both sides are great. Both sides slide in and out easily. The inside of the pillow is comfortably stuffed on both sides. I haven't had a chance to take her on a plane yet, she's being trained by this new airline. I'm not complaining yet, I'm just letting it air out, the first 2 days it smells like menthol.
