A valuable purchase, some advantages!

You can take it with an eye to the future (when buying a full frame in the future). In general, "glass" will serve at the proper, prof., level. It is not for nothing that Japan collects them. the quality is top notch. Actually, such money is worth not only because of the aperture: the brand, the manufacturer, the complexity of the assembly - that's what forms the cost of this product! Satisfied to the point :)

Pros
  • Fast AF. The depth of field is impressive at 2.8, I did not even expect such a result in my wildest dreams :). On a cropped matrix, there is not a hint of distortion at the short end (unlike 17-55 / tested in a store on D90 /). Heavy, which is a plus for me, because. reduces vibration. Without changing the position of the fingers of the hand, you can twist from the short to the long end, which increases mobility when shooting. At 17-55, you have to intercept with your fingers, which knocks (for me at least) and causes misses in AF (for me). In general, you need to get used to 17-55, but not to 17-35. Made in Japan. And that says it all :)
Cons
  • Interferes with the built-in flash. If you shoot indoors in low light, then consider buying an external flash. Also, the AF illuminator is ineffective at certain distances (they are described in detail in the instructions / D90 /). It is a pity that such lenses do not have a rope for the outer lens cover. Easily lost.
