Full compliance with the manufacturers assurances, high quality.

One of my favorite lenses, most of the time was on the camera. Made a lot of good shots on it. Well, something as an application. It is worth bearing in mind that it is quite weighty, but feels good in the hand.

Pros
  • - Beautiful "drawing" - Quick focus - Comfortable range of FR with saving from the aperture value - Pretty sharp (more than enough for photos of different genres) - Well assembled
Cons
  • - A controversial disadvantage, which at the same time is an advantage. The lens has distortion. On the one hand, it seems to be a drawback (but it can be easily corrected in the editor), on the other hand, the same distortions make the picture interesting - In the new conditions, a very controversial price tag, provided there is no stabilizer - "Screwdriver", which in turn does not allow you to save the glass when ating the carcass to the version without a screwdriver.

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

Great lens. To the previous author of the review: on the MTF charts it is indicated for an open aperture, on the covered aperture everything is in order with sharpness. On the D800E, it resolves perfectly. Different pros: constructive, optical quality, the front lens does not protrude like on most wide-angle lenses, compact size Some cons: since the lens is old, it does not have nanocrystalline coating, chromate

Best thing I have ever used, highly recommended!

Morning, ransom, registration in the registry office, a banquet (especially helps out when there is not enough space) I shoot with this lens. Walk on 85 mm 1.8. Worth the money, would recommend! With its pros: 1. Reliable, dust-moisture protected, metal case. 2. Fast, just for reporting. 3. Aperture. 4. Draws well (the picture with the D70s is even more interesting than with the D700, if we consider the landscape, sky, grass, etc. ) 5. Good for creativity because of its light power (at…

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

What was especially striking was the clarity of work in dim lighting without a flash, more specifically - with one 35-watt LDS, and shooting hand-held - well, I really liked it. In general, a good all-rounder, it is not clear why it is called a zoom)

I can't stop being happy with the purchase, a very good deal!

Took up permanent residence on my camera, as one of my go-to lenses. Used it to make a lot of successful shots. So, let's say it's an application or something. It's important to remember that despite its heft, it feels wonderful in the hand.

Pros
  • Excellent construction; Very crisp (enough for shots of various genres); Fast focus; Comfortable range of FR with saving from the aperture value; Gorgeous "drawing"
Cons
  • An unpopular drawback that's actually beneficial in some contexts. This lens distorts images. In the current conditions, a very controversial price tag, provided there is no stabilizer - "Screwdriver," which, in turn, does not permit you to save the glass when ating the carcass to the version without a screwdriver.

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

The lens is a legend. He was 10 years ahead of his time. Deserving the highest praise. Has some pros Speed and accuracy of autofocus. a high resolution. Ideal reportage lens. A high resolution. Given its advanced age, glass is still relevant and there is no replacement for it so far. 16-35-/f4 doesn't count. The rubber bands are stiff but do not slip and do not stretch, as on new models. favorite glass. With its cons. I have been actively using it for 10 years. Too bad it's not permanent. Due

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

You can take it with an eye to the future (when buying a full frame in the future). In general, "glass" will serve at the proper, prof., level. It is not for nothing that Japan collects them. the quality is top notch. Actually, such money is worth not only because of the aperture: the brand, the manufacturer, the complexity of the assembly - that's what forms the cost of this product! Satisfied to the point :)

Pros
  • Fast AF. The depth of field is impressive at 2.8, I did not even expect such a result in my wildest dreams :). On a cropped matrix, there is not a hint of distortion at the short end (unlike 17-55 / tested in a store on D90 /). Heavy, which is a plus for me, because. reduces vibration. Without changing the position of the fingers of the hand, you can twist from the short to the long end, which increases mobility when shooting. At 17-55, you have to intercept with your fingers, which knocks (for me at least) and causes misses in AF (for me). In general, you need to get used to 17-55, but not to 17-35. Made in Japan. And that says it all :)
Cons
  • Interferes with the built-in flash. If you shoot indoors in low light, then consider buying an external flash. Also, the AF illuminator is ineffective at certain distances (they are described in detail in the instructions / D90 /). It is a pity that such lenses do not have a rope for the outer lens cover. Easily lost.

Great lens but beware Cardinal Camera from Pa

I have just received my order for a Nikon 17-35mm 2.8 from Cardinal Camera, Pa which I purchased through Revain.com. Well I am very disappointed and upset because Cardinal Camera of Pa sent me a used lens that was supposed to be a brand new lens. The Nikon box looked worn, no manual, no warranty cards just not in the usual original Nikon packaging and no new lens smell, also the lens was dirty and there were witness marks on the lens barrel locking ring. That tells me this lens has been…

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • are unreliable

Instant classic! Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8D

This is the perfect lens for wide-angle photography. Not surprisingly, Nikon hasn't changed the formula or released a replacement for this lens since 1999. It is a proven lens used by professional photojournalists. I also have a 14-24 f/2.8, but for me the 17-35 is a much more practical wide-angle lens. The 14-24 is also a great lens and optically better than the 17-35. However, for me the 14-24 is an ultra wide angle lens and I prefer it for more creative effects and purposes. It's a fun lens,

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Happy with selection

I needed a wide angle zoom lens for indoor and outdoor use. Based on reviews, I preferred 16-35mm for my D800 and F100, but gravitated towards the venerable 17-35mm. For indoor shots with moving animals, a 16-35 lens would be a poor tool. VR is useless on moving objects in low light. The lens can also be used on my FE. a feature not supported by G-type lenses Needed a rugged lens for photographing horses in indoor and outdoor stables and arenas with color and black and white digital film. The…

Pros
  • Great for small households

  • Questionable purchase for seniors
