It is not as wide as it looks in the photos. (For reference, the hole in my nostril is about four times wider than the small feather that goes up my nose.) Also, the feather that catches the hair can be about a quarter of an inch long. The bottom line is that it works and works. doesn't hurt - but it could be 100 times better if it were longer and wider. It took me a long time to pluck out all the hair. Anyway, this is a really clever invention and I would recommend it to anyone. Just understand that this is not a magic wand. You have to work on pulling that hair out. And I apologize for the graphic photo. I know this is rough but at least you can see what the true size is.
