Check the position of the inputs and outputs and whether a hose needs to be connected to the device.
Suction is great and slow start/stop seems like a good feature but the biggest disappointment was that there was no hose hole on the unit itself. Also very little in terms of installation support. Looks like they could have included a PVC coupler and a 3" piece of pipe. I was replacing a different brand of central vacuum and wanted something that plugged in easily, but it wasn't.
