Excellent triple port HDD enclosure

and I had to set up Time Machine with my new 1TB hard drive in my Macbook. There aren't many 2.5-inch HD cases that can accept the new HD form factor for 1TB laptops. This one is great because not only does it easily fit a 1TB drive, but it also has a triple interface, which isn't very common these days. One thing that really impressed me is when I connect the case to my Macbook via firewire. 800 the drive is powered like USB. You don't need a separate power supply, which is very convenient since you don't have to lug around another power supply for your external hard drive. Big. Thank you Acomdata! Minus points are small, but significant enough in my opinion. 1) The ends are plastic. They seem solid enough and I've been using the case for a while and haven't had any issues, but they just give it a cheap look. Also, they seem to break easily. 2) The drive itself is solid, but the finish, while matte, is still smooth. I tried quite often to catch my drive. Don't put it on a sloping surface as it will slide off. Unfortunately I dropped my drive and had to replace it twice due to my clumsiness, but I find the finish of the case makes it very prone to slipping. My only suggestion to Acomadata is to make the interface less smooth. Those are the only reasons I gave 4 stars, otherwise I would have given 5. Overall I'm very happy with this case and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a case that will fit the thicker 1TB HD laptop form factor, especially given that it has a triple interface.
