Review on Baby Trend Deluxe Nursery Center by Lisa Perez

This nursery is attractive and affordable, but I'm deducting two stars because of the HORRIBLE chemical smell. The play area itself smells like most nylon and tarp items (imagine the smell of a camping tent) and the odor has mostly dissipated over the few weeks we've had it. But the mattress smells terrible. I left it outside on our covered porch for two weeks - TWO WEEKS! - Exhaust fumes and it still stinks. I would never let a child (or any living thing) sleep on something that smells like this. I'm ordering a Dream On Me playground mattress to replace this horrible one. I now use an old Graco Pack n' Play mattress, which fits great and never smelled like this even when new. My only other warning is that while the canopy does a good job of blocking light, it does trap heat. I put it on on warm days to ensure adequate air circulation.
