This sharpener is a trash can fire. Avoid like the plague.

Total trash. I'm willing to concede that we might have gotten a "loser," but given the price, this was one of the worst investments of time and money ever. Avoid like the plague! I'm a public school teacher with two kids and bought this based on the Elmers brand (authoritative, right?). First, the "razor mechanism" or whatever they call it knocks out every third piece of crayon (ridiculously annoying). Second, he can't handle paper crayon wrappers (an added annoyance). Third, this $40 paperweight literally broke the second session it was used (I sharpened about a hundred crayons each time, mind you). It would be more profitable to buy 10 pieces. Burn 000 new crayons and $20 for fun. See photos. The motor might be decent (and the unit seems solid) but in the performance and durability category I would give this product -1,000,000. You know that free plastic thing that's on the back of every box of 120 crayons? Yes, it's about 100 times more useful. What a rip off.
