Review on Garmin 010 11131 10 USB Power Cable by Shafiq Wang

Garmin is now powered by my accessories and no more dangling cords!

I hate dangling wires. Especially from my dashboard to my power outlet. Not to mention that connecting and disconnecting my GPS is annoying. So I followed some suggestions from the forum and came across this product. This is a Garmin product so I thought it would be the best choice to hook up to my 2003 Suburban. I've read a few posts elsewhere about using a cheaper alternative, but many people have commented that they're not that reliable. I can't say for sure, but if it's a $10 issue I'd rather spend the money and make it work. This is pretty much a good option to install if you have experience with automotive electronics and/or wiring. . I crimped several connectors to the wires and routed the cable behind the dashboard faceplate. Super quick and easy. I used an auxiliary cable from the ignition, so my device turns on when I start the car and turns off with the engine. Makes it much more useful without having to constantly plug and unplug. And if I have to take it to someone else's car, I still have the factory cable. Minus? No one. This is the simplest solution you can get. Works perfectly every time. Thank you Garmin for that. The next best thing for in-car navigation devices.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Something different
