I bought this to connect older computers and gaming systems to a modern flat screen. I tried two computers (Commodore 64 and Apple II) and a gaming console (original 8-bit Nintendo or NES). I also tried using two different monitors (an Acer, a Dell). No matter what system or monitor I was using, there was an odd color bar at the top of the screen. Also, colors were washed out, "noise lines" appeared on the screen, and text was blurry. The manual says you should try to set the dip switches, but in my case there is an empty hole where the dip switches should be. I went through all the suggested settings in the OSD and pretty much everything I changed only made things worse. I would give it one star but because it works (albeit poorly) I gave it two. Not recommended for those who want to connect older computers or game consoles to a VGA monitor.
