Journey through Europe during diamond painting! This is a great kit. The image is an intimate view of a Parisian alleyway. I have a medium canvas which is sufficient but I bet a large one is even more amazing. Larger canvases capture more detail and end up being quite impressive. I would change the patience level (or skill level) from INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED and lean towards Advanced. Medium canvas 40 x 50 cm There are 35 colors available, which are above the average of 20-30 for most projects. But that means you get more color variation and detail, so it's well worth the extra time and work. Also, the gems come pre-packaged in small ziploc bags and numbered for you - no pre-sorting and packing for this set, which is a win. Large canvases are my favorite for end results. You can place longer rows of the same color at once if you have the tools to do it, but of course you'll still be dotting in some places. Using the tools to create longer rows of dots will allow you to finish this canvas quicker, but it won't take a day or two. But of course everything you absolutely need for this project is included in the kit. My general thoughts on diamond painting: Diamond painting is a relaxing activity for me, it combines the best parts of puzzle solving and cross stitching and brings them together in one exercise. The end result is that you get a work of art when you want to use it. Sure, it seems like I'm creating more art than I can realistically use, but for the price of one of these kits, it's cheap therapy. I have a briefcase to store the canvases before and after they are made to keep them flat. The details of the image are certainly not as sharp as in the photo, but make for a pointillist painting with brilliance. I love pointillism and really enjoy it on so many levels.
