Good idea but doesn't work on small mites. I recently drove my mite lab and had to remove 5-10 mites daily for a month. This device will not work on newly attached ticks. They are too small and too flat to grasp. Tweezers are best for new ones, and since they're new you don't have to worry as much about prying them out. They are easy to reach with tweezers before they swell. However, once the tick gets fat, this thing works great. Sometimes you still have to help the tick get into the "v", but this is a great help to avoid squeezing the tick, just gently pulling it until the bloodsucker is released. Contrary to what the packaging says, it works best when the tick is perpendicular to the "v". It slides out in parallel unless it's quite thick.
