Finally I decided to disassemble and buy an ABL (Auto Bed Leveling) sensor. I weighed the pros and cons of the CRTouch and BLTouch when the CR went on sale. We had a winner. The CR comes with metal brackets to mount the probe on different printer models. On the Ender 3 Pro, the bracket attaches to the printhead using the same screws as the fan housing. This arrangement makes removing and reinstalling the fan housing a little tricky, but once it's in place, you're done. When setting up the firmware, use the same settings as for BLTouch. Adding CRTouch has made my life a little easier. I'm not that concerned about checking the level (alignment) of the bed before each print. I did 3 to 5 prints between leveling or switching projects. The biggest problem I had was setting the Z offset of the sensor. There is a wizard in the firmware that can be activated and the first time I did it I misinterpreted the instructions. Once I nailed it everything looks pretty good.
