Ultimate Cheapest Gaming Mouse Review

July 2019 Edit: Mouse still works, no issues so far! Update December 2020: The mouse still works the same as day one, although I've now upgraded to the wireless version of this mouse, the G305. This mouse works great! If you're looking for an entry-level gaming mouse, look no further, this mouse is for you. Believe me. Whether it's for you or someone else, you can't go wrong with this mouse. I decided to create a massive review guide for people like me who absolutely need to see detailed reviews before pulling the trigger on a product. Below is a list of pros and cons, and below is a detailed section about this mouse if you are a reader :-) Pros - RGB lighting (not simple BS like 12.8M colors with breathing effects) - Deepening area Click left and right mouse button helps to hold the mouse (e.g. image) - Sleek design and texture ideal for claw holder - 8000 dpi sensor that can be changed in 50 steps (7950 etc.) - DPI up Button up to 4 dpi changes on the fly (can also be programmed to a button) - 2 customizable buttons on the inside of the mouse (more on that below) Fur (opinion) - No braided cable (they wear out) Cons - Worst scroll wheel I've ever seen in your life* (UPDATE: the scroll wheel is actually VERY good for gaming if you use it to switch weapons/items as the notches are there to prevent you from saying, that switching to 1 is too much, otherwise the scroll wheel The cable is pretty cute because it just feels clunky) - The cable is a bit short. G203 Prodigy is the best gaming mod in this price range. The RGB lighting alone makes this mouse worth considering considering the price, as many high-end mice have RGB lighting for functionality. Logitech hasn't compromised on this AT ALL and features a full 16.8 million colors with color effects like breathing and color fading, which is way more than the old "RGB mice" that just have a fixed color with an on/off switch (*cough Steelseries cough*). All you have to do is download the software from the website by searching "G203 Prodigy Software" and you're good to go. Moving on, the mouse dips on left and right clicks are amazing. This helps you keep your fingers on the mouse while you click and move it. After using this mouse because my old gaming mouse that didn't have this feature shorted out, I just couldn't go back. A must have for any gaming mouse in my opinion even if you don't get this one. Also, this mouse has a pretty slick design and decent texture for your hands. I've had a few that felt better, but not bad. The 8000dpi sensor is also very good in this price range, it's very accurate and can be set in increments of 50 (I know it sounds silly, but some mice don't even have that precision, the Steelseries Kana v2 I only had adjustable in 400 before -steps, which is absolutely horrible by the way, don't buy this mouse) which is huge. There's also a DPI button and 2 customizable buttons, which is pretty standard. This mouse has a rubber cable, which I like, but some people like braided ones (they look nice, but not great). Not every mouse is perfect, but this one comes very close. The only major issue with this mouse is the GOD HORRIBLE scroll wheel* (update this above, it depends on the genre of games you play). If you use the scroll wheel regularly, this is a HUGE disadvantage. Scrolling is a bit clunky and the texture feels very uncomfortable. So if you find yourself using your scroll wheel every 5 minutes, I have to tell you this mouse may not be for you. Fortunately, I don't use the scroll wheel that often. Finally, the cable is a bit short, but it will work for 99% of you if you are within reasonable distance from your computer. I hope this helps you make good mouse choices, I would highly recommend grabbing this mouse if you haven't already. See you on the battlefield!
