If the right amount of tea is put into the filters, there will be a big gap. A large amount of tea leaves can leave the filter through the gap and get into the brewed tea. I know some tea leaves are expected, but I don't want her cup to be full. The bamboo teaspoon is fine, but if you like loose tea I would recommend a different filter. I'm adding to this review because I used a different filter out of the three. I wish I could say it improved the view, but it didn't. The second filter from the kit had an even larger gap between the two sides and even more tea flowed into the cup. I haven't wasted any more tea after trying the third filter.
