Review on ๐ŸŽง Bose Quietcontrol 30 Wireless Headphones - Ultimate Noise Cancelling Experience in Black by Chad Overturf

Poor quality product - NOT recommended

Not my first Bose product and I am very disappointed. The sound and noise cancellation are great, but overall I hate them. I find it particularly irritating that my dislike of them was performance based to begin with, but since they weren't my first Bose product I decided to give them a shot, hopefully a firmware update or something else would improve things . What happened in the end is I hate them to this day, I missed my return window and now I'm stuck with $300 headphones you couldn't pay me to use. I don't write reviews, but that's how I feel about these headphones. Here are the headphone issues: * Bluetooth is pretty unreliable. It keeps crashing and I get intermittent music or podcasts. Oftentimes, my sound disappears entirely for a second or two, comes back for a split second, and then disappears again. Issues you typically see when you're out of range of a Bluetooth signal, but that's not the case. Indoors, it works well in most cases, but not always. The real problem is that the performance is really bad when you're outside. When the phone is in your back pocket, it doesn't work at all. For example, the headphones cannot connect to my phone. So I started putting it in the front pocket of my shirt or jacket, but it was on the left side of my body, so when I turn my head to the right, the tone starts to drop. I'm not exaggerating. The only time it works properly outdoors is when I hold the phone in my right hand and look at it while walking down the street. I live in New York. I walk a lot. This is a breach of the deal. * The second problem is the microphone. When I'm on the phone, it picks up all sorts of background noise that makes it impossible for people on the line to hear me, especially (again) when I'm outside. I can hear them perfectly (thanks to noise cancellation) but they can't hear a word of what I'm saying. I had to turn off my headphones to answer a call. Again, this is a breach of the terms of the contract. Otherwise they are great. I would not recommend them. UPDATE (March 12, 2018): I bought another pair of headphones after my review, but I still use them on airplanes as the ones I bought don't have noise cancellation. It's been almost a year since I bought it and I can't believe I spent $299 on it. Probably the worst headphones I've ever bought. Within a year they will fall apart with heavy use for the first few months and then with very light use. The edges of the rubber on the inside have separated from the plastic on the outside. The downside isn't just cosmetic, it affects the ON/OFF button that makes it harder to press. The worst part of all of this is that they turned me against Bose in the first place. I am now considering buying other noise canceling headphones and Bose headphones would not be an option. UPDATE (November 2018): They died out completely over the summer, just over a year after I bought them for $300. I bought replacement headphones for $40.
