UPDATED: I'm reducing my rating from 4 to 3 stars after using the product for a few weeks. Not because there are any issues with the product itself, but because I just don't think the iPhone is right for it. Specifically, as I mentioned in my original review, it reduces screen brightness by about 20% when installed, but I also found that a tinted screen protector tricked the iPhone's ambient light sensor into believing the ambient light was much lower as he. This results in a significant dimming of the screen on the phone, making it even more difficult to see (e.g. the phone thinks you're watching in a darkened room when it's actually quite bright in the room). The phone's combination of automatically dimming the screen when waking up and dimming the screen protector, which blocks 20% of the light on the screen, can make the screen difficult to read. As a result, I had to manually increase the screen brightness setting. Screen quite often when waking up the phone, which I've never had to do before. Because of the hassle factor, I've reverted to Clear Protector and forego any privacy benefits I would get from it. All this to say that if you really want to protect your screen from prying eyes, this can still be useful for you. and took one for the team). I got this because I sometimes use my phone in public places and thought the added privacy features that hide the view from an angle might be valuable. Overall I'd give this a 3.5 if I could - it's not quite a 4 but better than a 3. It's great as a screen protector - it comes with everything you need for a professional installation, including instructions on how to Snap on to ensure a perfect fit. The fact that you get three for such a low price makes this a steal. The privacy feature seems to work. I've attached some photos showing it from different angles, both before installation and on the phone. It is a polarized glass surface. So if you've ever tried looking at your iPhone through polarized sunglasses, you'll understand how it works. When viewed from the side, the screen appears either dimmer or quite dark at an extreme angle (> 60 degrees). However, if you look from any angle from above or below, the view will be slightly spoiled. Another consideration is that when you are looking directly at the screen (e.g. when using your phone) the screen will be darkened by about 20% than if the screen protector were not in place. So you'll either have to adjust the screen brightness to compensate (and use more battery) or get used to a slightly dimmer screen. All in all it's pretty good and if you need privacy when using your phone you might find this useful. Personally, I'll probably just resort to the crystal clear screen protector next time and wrap my hand around my phone when I need a little more privacy.
