Review on Peugeot Isen-Flax Mill: Natural Fax Seed Grinder - 7 x 7 x 13 cm by Brandon Woodson

I eat a bowl of Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal every day. Have done it for years. I add walnuts, frozen blueberries and whole milk to the melange. So I ordered more oatmeal from Bob and added a bag of flaxseed to up my order to free shipping. It didn't occur to me to order ground flaxseed as I had no experience with rock solid seeds. A friend suggested putting them in a bag and hitting them with a hammer, which I did when I was looking for a flaxseed grinder. Eventually I came across this one and it arrived today. I tried them in a manual coffee grinder and the seeds are so small they came through unscathed. When I read that this item was specifically designed for flaxseed, I went for it. Well he does what he has to do. I'm a 70 year old male in pretty good shape. I didn't find the mechanism difficult to use. The T-handle at the tip of the tool rotated with little effort, and when everything worked I ground up a full teaspoon of seeds in less time than it took me to crush the same amount, only with better results. Beautifully finished, the quality is noticeable. I highly recommend it based on my first use. I've been using it for a few days and it works beautifully. One of the problems with grinding flaxseed is the sticky residue that the seeds leave on the mechanism used. Peugeot actually developed it for linseed. Not only is the degree of grinding perfect, cleaning is also easy. Slide the T-handle from the top and turn clockwise while lightly grasping the protruding mechanism in the recess below to remove the entire grinding mechanism and clean it with the included soft bristle brush. It takes a bit of force to pull out the first time, but if you can open the glass jar's solid lid, you'll have no problem. Replace and rotate counterclockwise and the ridges will snap into place with a confirming click/feel. I love this little gem as it makes the job so much easier. I will update if I encounter any problems but I am happy with the purchase.
