Review on IETS Cooling Flexible Colorful Adjustable by Randy Washington

Very well done! :): Computers & Accessories

I've used several different gaming laptop coolers since trying to take really good care of my electronics so they last as long as possible. For reference, I'm using the Acer Predator Helios 300 (2018) (15.6") version with this cooler. In the case of gaming laptops, these devices are essentially the "enemies" of two things: 1. Heat and 2. Dust I was very intrigued as was the very high fan speed (4500RPM) as almost no cooler I've found tops 2500RPM First let me get to the bottom of the only negative I have What I really love about this cooler is the fan noise, not a huge issue for me as I use headphones and there's usually no one around anyone who would be upset by the noise so this is by no means a deal breaker Pretty loud on highest settings. (there are three settings) so I definitely don't recommend this for anyone using their laptop around others sensitive to noise. The hum, even on the lowest settings, can disturb your surroundings for an extended period of time. The Cooling is quite efficient. It even seems to work better than other laptop coolers I've used. This may have something to do with the fact that it "seals" the area underneath the laptop so air can only enter through the vents on the back. Very little (if any) air escapes around the laptop. With the first fan stage I was able to get the CPU temperature down to around 24-25°C in idle mode. The fans have 3 settings. I don't know the RPM for each setting, but the maximum advertised is 4500 RPM. Dust removal through the rear vents is impressive! I've been using the cooler for a little over a week and at the end of each day I take my laptop off the cooler and check the vents and there is NO dust buildup on it. I've used other coolers as controls and after a day of normal use or gaming I've always had at least a small buildup around the external vents. zero with it. I'm just over a week old now and I see absolutely no dust on the bottom of my gaming laptop. Bravo. :) The plastic "lip" for a 14-15" laptop is already installed when you receive the cooler. For 17" laptops, there is a plastic bag with a larger plastic lip. The "lip" is simply a raised piece of plastic that attaches to the inner circle of the cooler to form a "seal" between the bottom of your laptop and the cooler, preventing dust from getting in. Next are the colored indicators. "Light doesn't really bother me. There are several different colors and they're nice to look at, but with this one I was really interested in cooling and dust removal - everything else was superfluous. Did people mention it's the last light you turn on?" , doesn't "save" when you turn it off? I didn't notice. If I turn it to blue and then turn off the cooler and then wait a few seconds and turn it back on, it glows blue. *shrugs* Works on me. ;) The C Lips on the front of the laptop along with the rubber gasket around the laptop hold the device very well. You must use enough force to pry it away from the gasket and clamps once they are in place. The legs were a bit questionable for me. I'm used to the kind of metal bars where you just set the height with a metal ring device and it's secure. This cooler uses notched corner legs. It's not a problem for me as I don't use my legs. I left the laptop on the bed. The vents are on the back so nothing is blocked even when the legs are not stretched out. Oh and yes this cooler is fantastic for bed use with no issues that I have found. :) The cooler is well assembled. It doesn't look cheap when I realize that nothing would die or fall off in a few months. ;) In general, the cooler is processed very high quality. 1 star deduction for noise pollution. In addition, it is solidly built and serves its purpose perfectly. It's *a little* expensive, but if it lasts a few years I think it'll be worth the money to "save" your laptop from an early death. :)
