Review on πŸ›₯️ CURT 28112 Boat Trailer Jack with 6-Inch Wheel | Supports 1,200 lbs. | Provides 11 Inches of Vertical Travel | Marine Grade by Joshua Gaines

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Scrap - flexes severely below 1/2 rated load. looks like it might break in half!

Added as a replacement for the 22ft tandem boat trailer. The weight on the jack is about 600# (1/2 rated load) and it flexes so much when extended 2/3 that it looks like it might break, and it's tilted about 15 degrees! Both the mounting swivel and the jack pipes have a lot of play and are anything but strong. Any lateral movement and I expect it to break. Even the mounting screws are barely enough (I've tried adding my own washers for a more secure fit). What worries me the most is that the pull pin that allows it to rotate pulls out easily even under load - if kids or anyone gets it wrong, hands off. Either way, installing this thing is a waste of time. I took it off and put it back 10 minutes after trying to crank it all the way.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging
