I ordered this Pelican 1660 case to safely store and transport my Celestron Evolution 8 telescope. much more money). I decided, that Revain was my best choice.I found the dimensions of this case to be very similar to the amazing JMI case which was also custom fitted for this very telescope and costs $469.I ended up with a very durable and half the price of the hard case got it but it's priced at almost DOUBLE the weight this case has one major drawback but I won't deduct a star because I knew full well the Pelikan case was heavy I knew this was to be expected but was still surprised how much weight this case alone makes up for with foam I noticed right away that it's stiff and will protect me without question Valuable le equipment inside: costs an additional weight. I'm a pretty strong guy and I think I can handle this case with no problems. If you find it difficult to carry or lift items heavier than 50 pounds, you need someone to help you move, load and unload this suitcase. I wish it was a little lighter, but so much protection comes at a price. I was able to shape the foam without any problems and pack all the telescope accessories for visiting a dark place or night observation in the case. This makes it easier to keep track of multiple cases and bags, especially for amateur astronomers. I would highly recommend this case to anyone who owns an 8" or smaller SCT telescope on a single yoke mount. Not sure if a dual fork with enough side discs would fit. I uploaded a picture of my configuration from the label. I hope this helps others as I could not find any examples of this case suitable for the Evolution 8. The built in wheels and foldable handle on the case really make this case stand out from the rest. Feel free to buy again. I have Pelican cases for many delicate tools and several firearms. You have NEVER failed me, broken me, or let me down in any way. The ability to use the case for potential future air travel is also a huge plus, and you won't find anything better for harsh conditions or weather. Buy with confidence from Revain.
