3M Stainless Steel Cleaner & Protect leaves a clear protective Scotchgard barrier between your steel surface and dirt and oily residue. With repeated use, this barrier can help protect the surface from corrosion and prevent dirt and oily residue from adhering to stainless steel compared to leading polishes. With my previous cleaner, which wasn't made specifically for steel, I had to clean more often. There were always fingerprints on the steel surface (this is a microwave oven). With this cleaning and protective agent, I can clean the outside less. It seems to crowd out the leftovers. The only drawback is the top. This product works but my husband and I don't like the flip top lid. This can prevent leakage but makes it more difficult to apply to surfaces. You should apply it to a rag or towel instead of spraying it. This may be due to the thicker consistency of the product, or they may not want you to apply too much cleaner/protectant to the surface. So I have to constantly wet the rag with cleaning agent. I deducted a star for that. Otherwise I recommend it.
