1. At first I thought the double thread was attached to each other. There are two lines coming from the controller, so you can't logically trim the tree to benefit from the animation. 2. There is a serious problem with these "freezes". If you change the animation or color, it runs for a few seconds and then freezes. That means they can't be changed or disabled via the app, the remote, or even the controller button. You must disable to reload frequently. I found a workaround by dimming immediately as soon as you change scene or connect. Luckily, the app or Alexa will remember the scene and hide it when you turn it back on, so I found an animation I was happy with and left it there. 3. I thought it just makes them normal, but they seem to have a mind of their own, changing scene or brightness, maybe in response to our TV or Firestick remote. In this case, they become fully bright and "freeze" within a few seconds. There must be an overload or lack of current, so I tried 3 different USB power supplies, one of which was a "fast charge" with more amps. Same problems as above. 4. I would also like to be able to slow down the animations as they seem too busy on the tree. I think you get what you pay for and this deal was too good to be true. Since there is still a week until Christmas and the tree is ready, I will probably return them after the holidays.
