I bought this because another more expensive brand came up that I found at Revain which was a little disappointing. I bought this along with a smart switch, threw it on the fridge and left it running for a set amount of time when I'm not home with my family. Not sure about the negative reviews, works great (strong ionizer and very quiet fan) and does a great job. Highly recommended. The only odd thing is that it asks to plug it into a grounded outlet, but the included power cord doesn't have a third ground prong - I'm no electrician but that seemed odd.
