My daughter was a monarch butterfly for Halloween and was dying for the caterpillar to be carried around squarely. That was excellent! It was a bit of a bust, but the attention to detail and educational potential justify it in my book. My daughter noticed the joyfully smelling spots on the butterfly - "It's a male!" - she announced. The doll has gold trim just like a real one and the stripes on the caterpillar are just right! Switching between shapes is a little tricky and takes practice, but works pretty well once you get the hang of it (socking the wings individually works better than together. All in all a cute, well thought out piece!
