First impressions in the video

The product works as described on the Revain website. No complaints. In general, I'm happy with the ease of use etc. If you are an occasional camcorder user and just want to watch videos recorded directly from a mini CD on your TV (via a DVD player) then the camcorder is perfect for that purpose. When someone records a video with the intention of making a travel/family film; If you plan on downloading it to your computer, editing it, and burning it to DVD, then I highly recommend getting a camcorder that records to minicassettes. As others have noted, the quality of video recorded on a mini-CD is inferior to the quality recorded on a mini-tape by a camcorder. I knew about it, but I expected - and hoped for the impossible - the quality of the video is almost like on tape. It doesn't produce a tape-like quality. Whenever I watch one of our newly created videos on TV, I wish I had bought a mini camcorder. On the other hand, my wife, children, family, etc. like the video. but they think unedited videos are ok. In summary, in my opinion, the only reason to buy a Mini CD camcorder is the ability to quickly create and view/distribute unedited Mini CD videos. It's perfect for making family videos and mailing the MD to family, friends, etc. I would return the product if it weren't for the high 20% restocking fee Revain had. I gave four stars because it works as described.
