Review on Silicon Power 2TB Rugged Portable External Hard Drive Armor A80 - Waterproof USB 3.0 for PC, Mac, Xbox, PS4 - Blue | Enhanced SEO by Michal Wasowicz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didnt expect the quality to be so high.

I bought it literally 10 days ago, I haven’t used it very actively yet, and I’m going to use it exclusively for backups (documents, rare music, photos + system image) and as a multiboot disk. Since the box is easy to disassemble, in the future you can use it for new models of 2.5 inch hard drives 9.5mm high (and Hitachi has already announced single-platter 500GB hard drives, so 9.5mm terabytes are just around the corner), so I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Pros
  • Excellent body build. Nothing backlash, no creaks, no gaps, so I think that 30 minutes under water is quite realistic. 2 laces included + convenient fastening of a short one - quite an interesting and convenient notion. In terms of work - vibrations are felt (if you put your hand on a disk lying on the table) only during tests for random reading and during defragmentation, i. E. at times when the head flies all over the disk. Noise - background noise at night in the apartment (house in the yard + double-glazed windows) is louder. You can only hear it if you put your ear close to the box itself. Unfortunately, the USB 3.0 controller has not yet been purchased, so I can only judge 2.0, but here everything is expected to rest on its bandwidth. In terms of power: it works quietly without falling off, even if you connect a long complete cable to the connector on the front panel of the computer case, the total length of the wires to the connector on the motherboard is more than one and a half meters.
Cons
  • Only one body color (personally, I would like neutral black, like in the A70 model). The disadvantage for me is inside the Samsung hard. Personally, I prefer Hitachi out of all 2.5 inch drives. I hope that this Sams will not let me down. There is no button for a quick backup, as on some other VZhD models. Not exactly a disadvantage, but still
