They hold up well in the dishwasher and I like the bear parts but wish they were easier to pull out. I think I wasted a whole bunch of gummy bears on one mold because they were hard to come by. I tried vegetable oil because I didn't have an oil spray and it made her uncomfortable. I've found the longer I let them sit, the easier it is to take them out. I soaked them but also noticed that they brought back the smell from previous gums I used. I love that they are free of BPA and other toxic chemicals. These shapes survived the dishwasher well. You have to go really deep into each cavity to really clean it, you don't want to risk anyone getting sick as I've found the old rubbers are still stuck in there even after rinsing their hot water more than once .
