They fit and work but started to rust after a week or so

I liked the look of them until they started to rust. Bought these to use with a brand new wheelset and unfortunately now they are showing all the signs of rust on the splines. I used the included adapter to mount them and I've installed a lot of nuts over the years so I'm pretty sure it wasn't me. If they didn't have this problem, they would be an incredible value.
