Review on Sling Media SB500 100 Slingbox 500 by Jeff Bremmer

Two problems: remote control codes and HDMI cables. Remote Control Codes: I bought this to help my mom watch her favorite shows. The new remote controls are difficult for her, so I can help her remotely to see and record what she wants to see. My mother's service is linked to Cox, so I was surprised to see that after updating Slingbox, there was still no entry for my mother's cable box. I had to google the issue and found out that Xfinity has an X1 box which is basically the same. Shouldn't someone at Slingbox pay $300 for a streaming box to update their remote access codes? HDMI cable. If you haven't encountered HDCP issues on other devices, this device has them. Luckily for ANOTHER $70 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077YKCFGS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 you can get this HDMI component adapter. I would have thought Slingbox could build this box into their device for $300 (it's possible), but no. As far as image quality goes, it looks okay. If you have a newer set top box from your ISP, just expect to google for answers instead of searching Slingbox for a solution.
