Top and bottom plates are misaligned. The bottom plate is larger than the top, as are the pad holes, so your rubber pads don't sit directly between the plates. It's still possible to push the rubber in and get it to work, I've done that and haven't encountered any problems but would like you to know as all the other dampening pads I have have straight seated rubber pads.
