I sprained my metatarsal and suffered a stress fracture. They put me in one of those big plastic boots. I bought size XL of this shoe cover and it's fantastic. I can go out in the rain and my boot doesn't get soggy. I can work in the garden without fear of my shoe carrying dirt all over my house (a phenomenon that happened quite a few times before they arrived and I still find dirt that needs vacuuming). Having a pair is good because I can assign one to work outside the home in the public world and the other to garden and get dirty in the yard.
