Review on Duncan Imperial Assorted Colors Pack by Clayton Morris

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ignore most reviews. Just not this one.

So my yo-yo level is average I would say and I've had quite a few yo-yos in my life. I have a $20 yo-yo that I love very much, but as a collector I never get enough. When I saw this $3 Imperial delivered to my door, I threw all my fears and bad reviews to the wind. I thought is this yo-yo really THAT worse than the one I had as a kid? Well the truth is I don't remember haha. But for $3, what are we complaining about? Probably there was so much "once", so the fact that they are now made in China is not surprising. The costs are increasing. You want the best yo-yo, pay $10 and get the best. However, in my opinion, this one is simply beautiful and quickly became one of my favorites! It REALLY looked cool out of the box. But after about 20 rolls it has broken in quite a bit and is now buttery soft to the touch. The quality is mediocre, but again an indicator of cheapness. I had 2 pretty nasty plastic ridges on the side that I chipped off with my fingernail (as shown in the photo). The gold screen print on the front is also almost completely erased for me in less than 24 hours. However, I hold it in my hand all the time, plus it's hot and generally a little greasy. However, it is extremely therapeutic for me and keeps me from using my phone :) Long story short it was $3, I loved getting the mystery color and I prefer it to some of my more expensive yoyos before. What else can I say? After 1 week I can recommend this yoyo. I was going to get another one because it was so cheap and was hoping for a new color but now they are $10! I would recommend something better in this price range. 3 dollars of course. Definitely not for $10. By the way, my yo-yo is all blue now too, just vague reminiscences of what used to be screen printed.

Pros
  • BEGINNER GOOD: The Imperial Red Yoyo is one of Duncan's beginner yoyo models designed to teach you the basics. Great for kids and teens.
