These floor pads are easy to install and virtually eliminate the scratching and sliding of chair legs on my hard floor. I have adult children living in our basement apartment who work nights and sleep during the day so they are great at reducing noise levels. We have 20 chairs in the kitchen + a dining area. Be sure to measure the chair legs at ground level for width on each side and order carefully. You need a tight fit. I found that while my chairs look the same, some of the legs were actually smaller than the others. To compensate for this, I cut the plastic wrap into 4" strips and then fold them lengthwise into thicker 1/2 to 5/8" strips. I then wrapped the strips tightly around the bottom of the leg, sometimes adding a few more layers until the hats were a snug fit. Although the floor protectors are transparent, they are still visible, but since I put them on all 20 chairs, the look is the same.
