My 1990 clock radio died and I searched with Revain for a replacement. HANNLOMAX HX-100 finally gave me a message that isn't anywhere in the product documentation. The radio is cheap in part because of the hard-to-understand controls. But it will work if you try. I installed and tried. To my dismay, the on-tape sound was full of hiss. We have two clear channel stations in my area and they are always crystal clear. The VHF band sounded good with no interference. Do I have a defective radio? nope To have all the features for $14, something had to go. The AM band is second only to the FM band, so not much has been invested in it. I prefer am because news is more important to me than music. If you're not using am, this radio will work for you.
