Long and very curly but thin so if it gets tangled it really tangles. Honestly, wearing a hat feels like hours of tying knots. it's halfway up my back. and I work, so it often happens that I can't really pay attention to maintaining it for several days. I don't buy cheap brushes because I end up buying several. This brush is under $12 and I chose it for the unique shape of the bristles. It looked promising. and the base isn't "swollen" where it can tear and crumble into hard knots, which was a big selling point. SERIOUS. No more than 8 minutes last night on the first flight. I haven't ripped or broken half as much. I even had other brushes from this brand before they were basically useless to me and left to other family members. If *this particular* brush had lips, I would kiss it. PLOT.
