My son prefers to turn his head to the side when he sleeps, we tried to change position but he usually turned back. He began developing a mild to moderate flat spot on the left side of his head. The pediatrician didn't care but as a physical therapist I didn't want it to get any worse and he ended up wearing a helmet. Our first son had a pretty bad flat spot, we tried a shark fin hat but he couldn't wear it at night when he really needed it. We've been using it for a little over a month and I feel it has helped. It moves while you sleep, so it tends to turn itself off if it happens in the middle of the night. It must be comfortable because it doesn't seem to bother him. I don't like that you have to replace it so often, but I think it's necessary. Overall I would recommend.
