I use it to hold my iPad Pro 12.9 for music. The stand is light, strong, easy to assemble and almost infinitely adjustable. I had three other musicians ask me about it and, unsurprisingly, each bought one. I also like that it comes with a zip case. I made a sousaphone lyre adapter to hold an iPad clip. I can use my smaller (and older) iPad for hiking. I don't know if it works, but it's nice to know that the iPad clip fits a variety of iPad sizes. I also made an adapter that attaches to the spring arms and holds the wire music table. One of the other musicians who bought a stand asked if I could build him a music stand because he plays in bands that distribute sheet music and since the GRIFITI stand is much lighter than a full music stand he prefers easy to use him. (I play in bands too, but I just quickly scan sheet music into my iPad.) He says the stand works great with the sheet music adapter. Recommend this stand for your tablet.
